Terms of Service
Last updated August 14, 2026
These terms apply when you use marturia.app or the Marturia iOS app. By using Marturia, you agree to them. If you don't, don't use it.
What Marturia is
Marturia is a free Bible reader with tap-a-word original-language study tools, cross-references, reading plans, personal marks, and a testimony community. It is a solo-developer, gospel-mission project. There are no paid tiers, no ads, and no obligations to Marturia beyond these terms.
Accounts
Account creation is optional. Reading works without one. To sync highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading-plan progress, or to post testimonies, sign in with Google or with an email and password.
You must be 13 or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe. Tell us atoubigeej@gmail.comif you believe your account has been compromised.
You can delete your account at any time from theprofile page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible; your account data, highlights, notes, bookmarks, plan progress, and testimony posts are removed.
Your content
"Your content" means anything you post: testimony body text, verse anchors, notes, highlights, bookmarks, reactions, and account fields.
You keep ownership of your content. By posting it publicly (testimonies appear on the community feed), you grant Marturia a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and moderate that content on the platform. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
You must not post content that: promotes violence or hatred toward any group or person, sexually exploits or endangers minors, harasses or threatens another person, impersonates someone else, infringes copyright you don't hold, is spam or pretends to be a Marturia announcement, or otherwise violates ourCommunity Guidelines.
Moderation and reporting
Marturia moderates the testimony community. Every testimony can be reported by any signed-in user via the report control on each post. Reported content enters a review queue. Content that violates the Community Guidelines is removed. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.
You can block other users from your feed and from replying to your testimonies. Block controls appear on each user's testimonies. Blocked users are not notified.
Scripture and translations
Marturia serves scripture from multiple translations. TheAttributions pagelists each source and its license. You may use scripture text from Marturia for personal study, teaching, and non-commercial devotional purposes consistent with each translation's license.
Bulk export, resale, redistribution as a competing product, or use for AI training is not permitted for the licensed translations (ESV, NLT). The public-domain translations (KJV) and the openly-licensed original-language texts and cross-references have their own terms noted on the Attributions page.
Copyright and DMCA
If you believe content on Marturia infringes your copyright, follow the notice procedure on our DMCA page.
Availability and changes
Marturia is provided as-is. We make reasonable efforts to keep it available and accurate, but we do not guarantee uptime, error-free scripture text, or continuous service. Features may be added, changed, or removed. Substantive changes to these terms will be posted here with an updated "last updated" date and announced by email to signed-in users.
Disclaimers and liability
Marturia is a study tool, not spiritual counsel. Test what you read. Bring questions to your local church, elders, or trusted teachers.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Marturia and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Total liability, if any, is limited to $50 or the fees you have paid to use Marturia in the past 12 months (which for a free service is $0), whichever is greater.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
